WHUDeano, I would keep it at 4-1-4-1, I think it can work fine with Noble and Anderson in the middle.

Victor Moses seems to be on the outer at Chelsea. Who would have him back?

Re: yarmalenko out for 6 months
Really gutted about this, really enjoyed watching him on the ball, has a lovely playing style and he probably had the best left foot I've seen at the club since Dicks.

I guess an option would be to play Masuaku at left wing, and move Anderson inside, but that really changes us back to the 4-2-3-1 formation that left us so exposed at the start of the season. Noble is certainly not good enough to play in a middle 2, though it could well work with Obiang...but in a 4-3-3 the only answer really would be one of Snodgrass, Antonio or the young lad.

Given that Pellegrini seems to like playing a left footer on the right of the front three it would suggest that we are now looking at having the lumbering Snodgrass as first choice right winger with the young lad as back up if we need someone to inject a bit of pace.

I would like to see Anderson given a go in the middle with Noble
On the wings I would pick from Masuaku, Snodgrass, Diangana and Antonio
Keep with Arnautovic up front
I think we could have more goals in a team like that.

I'd like Masuaku there too, could move Phil to the right, he might be a bit more comfortable over there.

It seems MP is rating Snodgrass, so might see him given a run in his preferred position. Diangana will continue to get games as a sub. And this might be a new lease of life for Antonio.

Time for Arthur again as an attacking winger. Always liked him in the position.

Arnie central just behind Hernandez maybe?

I think we are lucky that It’s his right foot, all I’ve seen him do with that so far is occasionally use it for balance so I expect to see him back in a fortnight.

I can't help but think that stuff like this isn't really a surprise...curse or not.

He didn't play much at Dortmund did he?

Also from what I've seen this season he doesn't look like the most naturally fit player I've ever seen ...something which doesn't go down too well in the Bundesliga or Serie A for example...

Another one for the list

Feel sorry for him obviously but don't rate him at all.
Poor signing in my opinion.
Far too much money wasted on him and Anderson for very little in return.

With Hernandez back and Carroll not far off I think it's likely Arnie will be back on the wing now.

Confirmed on the official site:-

West Ham United can confirm that Andriy Yarmolenko has undergone successful surgery to repair a damaged Achilles tendon.

The Ukraine international sustained the injury during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at London Stadium. He had an operation on Monday morning and is expected to be sidelined for around six months.

Head of Medical Services Richard Collinge said: “Andriy’s operation went well and we will now work hard to support him throughout the rehabilitation process.

“His recovery will be planned very carefully and we have every confidence that he will return to full fitness within the scheduled timeframe.”

Re: yarmalenko out for 6 months
Yes, we are cursed with injuries, but what's so sickening is that it's so often serious, long term injuries. What with Carroll, Reid and Lanzini, all long term absentees, we now have a £22mill bloke who's only been here 3 months. Same sort of thing happened to the useless Ayew.

And yes, we do have a number of players who seem to be injury prone; Carroll, obviously, Reid and, rather ridiculously Wilshere.
But whatever the cunt on MOTD said last night, Yarmelenko does not have a bad injury record. In the last 5 years he was out for 10 weeks in 2016 and 8 weeks at the beginning of this year. That's it.
